Joel offers one-on-one dance coaching to actors and artists. Sessions are tailored to the individual needs of each client, with a strong focus on your desired outcomes – whether that be preparing for a role, artist development, building strength and fitness, audition prep or often times just the sheer joy of dancing, building confidence and broadening your skillset.
Using his many years of experience in teaching clients of all ages and abilities, Joel is well equipped to take an artist at their current starting point, whether beginner or advanced, and then building them up from there.
Depending on a client’s goals, sessions can focus on correct dance technique, developing your own personal flavour, or a combination of both. Sessions are designed to bring personal growth, both as a performer and as a human, getting you totally in tune with your body and expressing your emotions.
Joel’s one-on-one coaching sessions are available on request. Get in touch via the Contact page.

One memorable teaching experience was his first. Joel taught alongside actress Deborah Walley on her Australian “playshop” tour. Deborah is remembered fondly as Gidget in ‘Gidget Goes Hawaiian’, along with starring opposite Elvis Presley in ‘Spinout’.
Deborah and Joel’s week-long convention was held on the Gold Coast, and students travelled from across the country to take part in drama and dance workshops, culminating in a gala performance and award presentation.
Sadly, Deborah passed away a few years later and her Australian tour served as her final appearance. Joel was honoured to work with her.
More recently, Joel developed and choreographed a national Jazz syllabus that is taught throughout Australia and New Zealand. He is also part of the team developing a unique new initiative for Australia’s leading dance teachers.
Many of Joel’s ongoing dance students have been cast in musical theatre – including the Australian productions of ‘Annie’ & ‘The Sound Of Music’, Disney & Universal Studios theme parks, MTV Awards, & a wealth of television commercials & series – including ‘Young Talent Time’ & ABC’s ‘Dance Academy’.
