Elen Levon

Joel staged a live performance from up & coming Ministry Of Sound recording artist, Elen Levon. Joel choreographed her cast of 30 supporting dancers for the performance of singles ‘Naughty’ & ‘Like A Girl In Love’ at ANZ Stadium.

 

 

Young Talent Time

Huge congratulations to one of Joel’s dance students, Adrien – who was the first team member announced for Network Ten’s new ‘Young Talent Time’ series. Several of his students also appear in the ABC TV series ‘Dance Academy’.

 

Star Wars

Joel choreographed the launch of ‘Star Wars: The Complete Saga’ for client 20th Century Fox. The 9-disc release marks the first time the entire film franchise is available together on Blu-Ray. The launch featured 16 female dancers emulating Princess Leia, & was set to a remix of the film’s score.

ACE Awards

Joel performed at the 13th annual ACE Awards, in multiple musical numbers including a performance with Rhonda Burchmore. Winners on the night included Guy Sebastian, Marcia Hines & David Campbell. This was the 5th time Joel has performed at this industry event.

 

A-List: New York

Joel made a cameo on an episode of US reality series, ‘The A-List: New York’ (Logo / Viacom). He shot scenes on location in Manhattan alongside famed photographer, Mike Ruiz & was later interviewed for the series.

 

D Major

D Major are an R&B girl group consisting of 3 of the biggest stars in India. Joel provided artistic direction for the recording group, who performed international tours with Akon & Fatman Scoop, & constantly appear on India’s MTV & VH1 networks.

 

MO Awards

Joel performed at the 34th annual MO Awards. The event highlights the best of the Australian live scene. Joel performed in the ceremony’s opening number, & the finale with ‘X Factor’ stars, Mahogany.

 

Avatar

Joel choreographed the ‘Avatar’ DVD launch for 20th Century Fox. The film was the #1 highest grossing of all time, & the launch saw 24 dancers set to James Horner’s score. The DVD release also broke Australian sales records, selling over 360,000 copies in the first 24hrs.

 

Tony Awards

Joel was thrilled to receive an invitation to attend the 2010 Tony Awards. The primetime event took place at New York’s Radio City Music Hall. Joel chatted about his experience with DanceLife.

 

 

SYTYCD

So You Think You Can Dance was launched in Australia with a national dance-off tour. The 2 month long trek saw thousands of dancers competing for cash & prizes. Network Ten flew winners from every state to Sydney for the grand final, hosted by Natalie Bassingthwaighte. Joel choreographed & performed on the tour with a cast of pro dancers, showcasing the various styles from the TV series.

Hat Day

Joel performed at the inaugural Hat Day – a community action day in support of mental health research. The Guinness World Record-setting event was held in Sydney’s Martin Place, & raised funds for Australian Rotary Health.

 

Christmas

‘Santa Fest’ took over Darling Harbour with fireworks, parades, & the lighting of the Southern Hemisphere’s brightest Christmas tree. Joel choreographed roving performers for the event for client Sole Entertainment.
